Les mots partagés

SharedMore than just words, a language of communication, culture and knowledge is shared in the Mots partagés (Shared words) program. Twice a month, from October to March, Montrealers of diverse origins get together to converse, read and write in French.

Les Mots partagés (Shared words) provides an opportunity to participate, free of charge, in reading and writing workshops in a number of Montréal libraries. These workshops are designed not only for adults who are learning the French language (at the intermediate and advanced levels), but also for Montrealers who want to share their own culture and discover other cultures.

Welcoming groups and stimulating workshops

Meetings take place in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Professional animators, who encourage dialogue about the selected readings, lead the workshops. There are readings by local authors and writers from elsewhere. There are also writing games.

Friendly meetings

A number of authors and storytellers from various cultures are invited to come and speak about their passion for writing and storytelling. During these get-togethers, there are opportunities for participants to discuss and chat with them.
